Total Time: 30 Minutes
Serving Size: 1 Pie

Featured Bakeware:

Ingredients

Crust: 30 chocolate wafers (crushed)
1/4 cup melted and cooled unsalted butter
Chocolate Filling: 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups whole milk
4 egg yolks
6 1/2 oz of bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons butter

Recipe Instructions

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Combine crushed wafers with butter and press into bottom of 9" USA Pan Pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes and then cool completely. You could also use your favorite pie crust recipe here, even graham cracker crust would work well! Whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan. Add in the milk and egg yolks. Stir over medium heat. Stir until mixture comes to a boil and thickens to the consistency of pudding. This could take anywhere from 6-10 minutes or more. Just be diligent about stirring and don't let it burn. Once mixture is thick, take off heat and add chocolate, vanilla, and butter. Stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is combined. Pour into cooled crust. If you have extra filling, just pour into small serving cups! Refrigerate uncovered for at least 4 hours. Garnish with whipped cream, berries, chocolate drizzle...whatever you like!
